Will the banner slow my site down?
No. The script is async-loaded and small enough that it does not block rendering — typically under 50ms of impact on Time To Interactive. It is not in your critical path.
Do I still need a cookie policy?
Yes. A banner collects consent; a policy explains what you collect and why. Our scanner produces the cookie inventory that policy needs, and the cookie policy generator turns it into publishable text.
Does it work on a single-page app?
Yes. The script integrates with any front end — React, Vue, Angular, Svelte, Next, Nuxt or plain HTML — and exposes events so your app can react when consent changes.
What happens to my analytics when someone declines?
With Google Consent Mode v2 enabled, Google's tags stay loaded but switch to cookieless pings, so you keep modelled conversions without setting anything you were told not to. Non-Google tags are blocked until consent is given.
Is GrantCookie legal advice?
No, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. We give you the tooling and defaults that regulators expect. For your specific obligations, talk to a lawyer.
Can I move my existing consent records across?
On paid plans, yes — send us a CSV export from your current platform and we will import it so your audit trail stays continuous.
